Main Activities
Leonel Sousa received the Ph.D and "Agregação" degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering both from Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, in 1996 and 2004 respectively. He is Associate Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (UTL), in Portugal, a Senior Researcher at INESC-ID, and actually Chair of the Board of Directors of this non-profit research institute. His research interests include high performance and parallel computing, micro-architectures for general purpose and specialized processors, and multimedia systems. Member of the Management Committee of EU COST Action ComplexHPC, member of HiPEAC/HiPEAC2 and HiPEAC Reconfigurable Computing Cluster. Senior Member of IEEE (2004), Senior Member of ACM (2009), and Member of IFIP WG10.3 on concurrent systems.
